We know October in Manchester isn't exactly the Côte d'Azur. But one sip of proper Provence rosé and you'll forget all about the drizzle outside Victoria Warehouse.
Provence is the undisputed home of rosé, and the style it perfected is now copied the world over: pale as onion skin, bone dry, delicate without ever being dull. The colour comes from a light touch. The grapes, often Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, are pressed gently with only the briefest skin contact. Get it right and you're rewarded with wild strawberry, white peach, citrus peel and a salty, mineral finish that has you reaching straight back for the glass.
Minuty sits on the Saint-Tropez peninsula and has been run by the Matton-Farnet family since 1936. It's a Cru Classé, part of Provence's historic classification of top estates, and its rosés, M de Minuty in that famous fluted bottle included, are icons of the Riviera.
Château Galoupet is another Cru Classé Côtes de Provence estate, right on the coast, where the vines grow among forest and sea. It puts biodiversity and sustainability front and centre, and its rosés are all about precision and freshness.
Want the full pink experience? Book All Things Provence Rosé with Minuty and Galoupet, the very first masterclass of the day at 1.15pm. And our tip: Provence rosé is brilliant with food, so head to Oyster Buoys straight after. You can thank us later.
